Its mission:

The Commercial Court rules on disputes between merchants or between private individuals and merchants. It also judges disputes concerning commercial acts.

In addition to these jurisdictional missions, it also handles legal publicity and keeps the trade and companies register.

The Commercial Court is made up of lay judges known as "juges consulaires". They come from the business world and are elected by their peers. They serve on a voluntary basis. Each commercial court comprises a president, vice-president and chamber presidents.
