Lyn SIA ROSMARIN (MBS 2003): Dare to build your success on the international stage
MBS 2003 graduate , Lyn Sia Rosmarin is now working internationally in finance and entrepreneurship.
Through her career path, she illustrates the challenges and successes of women in international business environments, and shares her experience.
Between international challenges and opportunities
As a woman in finance and entrepreneurship, Lyn has found that " resources and attitudes towards women are not equal ". While the situation has improved compared to ten years ago, she believes there is still room for improvement.
She adds: " Before, women's role was more supportive. Today, they are fully involved in the dynamics of boards of directors and executive management. Some extraordinary female founders have become real role models, inspiring case studies for all. "
Keys to success abroad
For Lyn, expatriation is an adventure that needs to be prepared and cultivated. Her advice to young MBS graduates: " Explore LinkedIn and add people you know in the country you want to go to. This has enabled me to connect with many new friends and reconnect with old pals. "
She also stresses the importance of the MBS Alumni network: " In Singapore, I'm lucky enough to have a friend from my graduating class. It's invaluable to have friends from school with similar values. Networking organized by alumni, such as afterworks, is also a great opportunity to meet and exchange with other professionals. "
Breathe in and let yourself be inspired
Lyn draws her inspiration from the careers of women leaders such as Sheryl Sandberg, Melanie Perkins and Safra Catz.
In her opinion, these women show the way and provide examples of leadership for current and future generations to follow.
